In extreme weather, we take care to keep your animals safe. For example, if the pavement is knowingly too hot, we keep them off it and in the grass. During your consultation, we will talk through your personal preferences on how you want us dealing with different circumstances.
All potential Chunky Pack Members have a multi-step interview process, where we make sure that not only do they love animals, but also fit in with our team values and company culture. Once we decide that the walker is someone we want on our team, we run a background check and make sure everything is clear before we introduce you to your designated Pack Member.
Unlike app services, where you “place your order” and hope for the best, Chunky’s provides a dedicated Chucky’s Pack Member to you and your animal. We recognize that not every dog jives with every human, and vice versa, so before your service starts, we will give you and your pet the opportunity to meet the walker, ask questions, and make sure that everyone feels comfortable with the new pet walking relationship.
During the consultation, we will figure out the best way to proceed, based on your home. Some of our clients have a coded door, and will give Chunky’s a personalized number to enter. Other clients have provided a lock box, and leave a key for us that way. If neither of these are an option, we will ask for two keys to your home, one for the walker, and one that is stationed at headquarters. That way, if there’s an emergency, and your dedicated Chunky Pack Member can’t make it to the visit for whatever reason, we have a spare key, and a substitute walker can take care of the scheduled visit.
At Chunky’s, you can pay with a check, or we can simply keep a card on file. During your consultation, we will review the best option that makes you feel the most comfortable.
